Website Engagement Data

As the job of media is to build awareness and move people into and through your sales funnel, website engagement data is a critical component to the Provalytics models.

Website engagement data could include sessions, visits to specific pages, performance of certain actions like adding to a shopping cart in the case of e-commerce or reading a case study in the case of B2B.

Each website engagement measurement is to be provided to Provalytics via secure data transfer in a separate CSV file.

The file requirements are as follows:

  1. Multiple Websites Engagements: Each engagement must have it's own file. If you're measuring 3 different events, three separate files are required.
  2. Fields: File fields are as follows:
    1. Date:  MM/DD/YY format
    2. Count: The count for that particular website engagement measure
  3. Headers: 'date' and the 'website-engagement-name', using hyphens to separate the words
  4. File name: The file name is comprised of 4 components separated by underscores as follows:

      • website: this identifies the file type and should always start with website
      • website-engagement-name: this is what you call this type and should be separated by hyphens (-)
      • XXX: your assigned Provalytics Client ID
      • YYYY-MM-DD: file upload date

  • File type: CSV without UTF-8. Note that Excel will prompt saving CSV in UTF-8 format, which allows special characters. Provalytics requires saving all files as a regular CSV without UTF-8 format as shown below.

For example:

  • Website Engagement name: 'add-to-cart'
  • Provalytics Client ID: '999'
  • Upload Date: 'December 30, 2024'
